Toyota – GM in the final lap

The race between GM and Toyota is in the final lap. The gap between the two auto giants is narrowing down. Toyota seems to be all set to take over GM motors in terms of exceeding the world largest automakers production and sales targets.
The news is that Toyota’s production for the year 2006 stands at 9.02 million vehicles. That is a huge increase if 9.5% in spite of the fact that Japanese auto market did not show any significant movement domestically. The auto maker expects a sharp increase in the sales of its vehicles in the year 2007 registering a rise of approximately 6% taking the sales of Toyota’s vehicles in United States to 2.68 million. However the total sales are expected to rise up to 9.34 million vehicles.
Production reports from the GM for the year 2006 stands at 9.18 million vehicles. The world’s largest auto maker seems to be loosing ground in front of the Japanese auto makers. Honda too, is putting up all efforts to increase the sales of its cars and car parts in the US market. Honda too, has gained tremendous ground due to its high reliable cars.
GM cars and car parts are, by far, the high sellable products in the United States. Toyota has given the auto giant a tough time and is all set to beat GM motors by targeting to produce 9.4 million vehicles
