High performance car parts v/s body styling and exterior accessories

Speed, performance, durability and reliability of cars and car parts have always been discussed when buyers opt to buy certain cars. But have you though what lures you to a car. At first glance you feel drawn to one car but you do not look at the other with appreciation. Yes, the visual appeal of a vehicle draws you to a particular set of wheels, after which you start asking your favorite questions.

Body styling, color of the car, body kits, head lights, tails lights, wheels, rear spoiler, billet grille etc. i.e.: all exterior accessories play a major role in enhancing the visual appeal of the car.

Initially manufacturers made cars with V8 engines making these power pack cars the king of road and racing tracks. The young were attracted to small yet sporty cars that boosted speed and high performance on roads and on the tracks. Manufacturers and people did not really care for the fuel efficiency. The cars had to be good and sleek in looks and used to spell speed and performance through their powerful car parts and accessories. During the same era, family luxury cars were also high in demand. This was the era of the 60’s.

As the world entered the 70’s and 80’s the shortages of fossil fuel and its rising prices caused concerns. The manufacturers shifted their attention from high speed, fuel consuming vehicles to more fuel efficiency cars that had V6 or V4 engines, had high performance features and more reliable car parts.

Everything changed. Auto manufacturers changed their marketing strategies and consumers buying preferences changed but one thing remained the same. People keep searching for good looking cars. Cars with excellent body styling, eye catching exterior accessories, billet grille, car spoilers etc still, in many cases, make the basis of buying decisions.
