Hybrid cars are a big threat for blind people

No doubt that these hybrid cars are quite suitable for environment because they are noiseless and cut the expense of fuel. We get better fuel efficiency and low emission from exhaust systems. Thanks to the performance car parts and accessories.
The hybrid cars are also low on noise pollution too, unlike diesel cars; hybrid cars emit little or no sound when driven at slow speeds. This happens because the performance car part act in such a way that the system shifts from gas to electric. As soon as the car shifts it operation from gasoline or diesel driven car parts and accessories to electrical car part the car’s engine sound reduces to minimum and is normally not audible.
This attribute of the hybrid car have turned out to be a threat for the blind people. As we know that these special people depend on the sounds of vehicles to judge the position and direction of vehicle. So no noise of a vehicle can be a cause of accidents.
For the purpose of safety of blind people, elderly, cyclists and generally for pedestrian who rely on car’s sounds, suggestion have been put forward from the National Federation of the Blind to equip these hybrid cars with such car parts that can emit some sound to warn the blind people about the approaching vehicle.
Auto manufacturers on one hand agree to look in to this matter and on the other contend that the responsibility of avoiding such incidents rely on the car’s driver as well.
